Associate (Audit) - Loss Share Monitoring

With the ramifications of the current financial crisis still very much present, our services have been in particularly high demand owing to our expertise and familiarity with the bank receivership process, asset management and disposition of financial assets.
We are seeking a junior professional to join the Advisory Services Group of our Chicago office in the position of Associate – Loss Share Monitoring. The focus of Loss Share Monitoring is to ensure that financial institutions, who are party to Loss Sharing Agreements, are complying with the terms of their Agreement. The Loss Share Monitoring business is in the second year of operations, and can be expected to grow rapidly over the next few years. Team members will have an opportunity to shape processes and procedures as we continue to grow the business during this exciting start-up period.
The Associate will play a key role in the completion of deliverables for multiple Loss Share Monitoring contracts. Ideally this person will have professional work experience in the banking and finance industry and/or in a detail-oriented accounting role. He/She will be responsible for reviewing reports and data submitted by financial institutions to insure compliance and accuracy. The Associate will be expected to track issues and trends affecting Loss Share contracts assigned. He/She will also assist with the preparation and/or review of periodic status reports and other required documentation. This person must effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects and competing priorities. He/She will report directly to the Senior Manager/Manager of Loss Share Monitoring.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated collegiate success resulting in a degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or Economics.
- Two to five years experience working in the professional sector.
- A high level of attention to detail, including an auditor’s approach to documentation of analysis results
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience using MS Excel and MS Word
- The ability to work independently and manage one’s workload efficiently
- Flexibility in approach to work, problem solving and new projects
- Outstanding work ethic
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Openness to working in a start-up business environment where workload and processes are rapidly changing and developing
